Tutorial 6 — Your Mix Report Card

Goal: learn from every mix. After each transition, GoDJ can grade what you just did — beat alignment, bass control, levels, key compatibility and phrasing — and open a clean report in your browser. No other DJ software gives you this feedback loop; it's the whole point of "training wheels."

Turn it on in Settings → Training → Generate a mix report after each mix (on by default). It needs training mode enabled.

How it works

GoDJ watches the period where both decks are playing (your mix overlap). When that overlap ends — one deck stops — and it lasted at least a few seconds, it captures a report. The SHOW REPORT button at the bottom of the window lights up.

Click SHOW REPORT to open a styled HTML page in your default browser with:

Step by step

  1. Make sure the report is enabled (Settings → Training).
  2. Do a full transition: bring the second deck in, blend, and stop the first deck when you're done (at least ~4 seconds of overlap).
  3. The SHOW REPORT button turns blue. Click it — the report opens in your browser.
  4. Read the Practise items first; they're your homework. Try the same mix again and aim to turn them green.

How to use it to improve

Removing the training wheels

As your reports get greener, step down the assists: full Auto (SYNC + TEMPO) → beatmatch with the trainer → fully by ear (see Tutorial 1's ladder). The report keeps you honest at each stage.
